One of my friends asked me if I can take care of his pet dog for a few weeks. He will be leaving the country for an assignment and would need someone he can trust to take good care of his pet. Since I always hang out in his house his dog knows me pretty much. I was the perfect person for the job and I had no choice but to agree.

He has been gone for a few weeks, and I must say I have grown quite attached to his pet. I even got the dog some dog hoodies and other accessories which I would get him to wear whenever I take him for walks. I am sure that I will have a difficult time returning him back when my friend comes back. It is probably high time for me to get my own pet this time.

Keeping Warm

During those extremely cold weathers, we would want to get as much warmth as possible. The cold weather can sometimes be too uncomfortable for us, sending us shivers and those teeth clattering episodes unless we get ourselves warm. Extreme temperatures can actually be fatal for us, and the last thing we need is to suffer from something we think is as simple as a change in weather. For these times, we would need to put on extra clothing to keep us warm.

The same goes when it comes to our pets. We would also need to keep them protected from these extreme temperatures. After all, they are living creatures too. Keeping them warm with a sherpa dog jacket is something that makes sense. You can be sure that your pet will not have to suffer from the cold temperature. What a great way to keep your pets warm. After all, your loyal pets need to be taken care of too!

Dogs are man’s best friend. Their loyalty and love for their owners are one of the most admirable things they create compared to other pets. They also make for wonderful pets as they are highly trainable and may also provide some sort of protection from intruders. Aside from this, it has been known that these pets provide psychological benefits to its owners.

Taking care of one’s dog is an important part to ensure its longevity. Shiny dog coats are an attractive feature to any pet pooch, and regular maintenance and hygiene is important in order to achieve this. Aside from a healthy and balanced diet, dogs need regular baths and brushing of their coats so that they stay shiny and untangles. Doggy hygiene is a must, just like to any human being.

If you live in an area that can grow really cold, keeping your pet warm is a problem. While inside the home, they can enjoy the same heat provisions that other members of the family enjoy. But not all pets live inside the home. Some have quarters outside and these are pets that need special care during the cold season. Make sure that their kennels are provided with sufficient cover from the wind and that they have adequate blankets to keep them warm.

When they go out for their walk make sure to provide them with big or small dog coats, depending on their size. The coat should be able to cover most of their body and should fit well to be comfortable. When buying a dog coat be sure to measure the three most important parts of the pet. Measure the length of the dog back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Measure the broadest part of the chest and the neck circumference. By knowing these measurements you can be assured of an accurate fit.

Protection for a Small Dog

A small dog’s body can’t hold heat as well as a big dog does. Although most dogs can tolerate a certain amount of coldness, getting cold will depend on the dog’s size and type of coat as well as the weather in the area the dog is. I live in California and when my family visited my sister in Canada, I really made sure to buy an extra small dog coat for my Chihuahua.

Back home, my dog can usually just tolerate a light sweater when the temperature dips below 50 degrees F. But most of the time, I just dress him in t-shirts for our afternoon walks in the park. Sometimes, I think my dog is even more fashionable that I am.
